We analyze your workload and assign it to your business requirements in order to get the most out of your system resources.
Q1 / 2022 - Q4 /2022:
hunger for resources
Extreme growth in the main memory area, as well as a sharp increase in CPU load.
Q1 / 2023:
Workload Management
The use of HANA Workload Management was able to drastically reduce and stabilize the CPU load.
Q2 / 2023:
Optimization of main memory usage
By paging out out tables via NSE (Native Storage Extension), more than 20% memory could be saved in the sizing.
By using workload classes, the workload of the HANA database can be sensibly limited. This first requires a thorough analysis of the workload in order to be able to map it.
Multiple SQLs at the same time can be prioritized and limited in your system resources. In this way you ensure that they are used sensibly and that the system is loaded with the important workload.
As above for the main memory, this can also be implemented for the CPU. This protects the system from possible resizing at an early stage.
Without the use of HANA workload management, each SQL and thus each application can use as many resources as are available at any time. In case of doubt, this can lead to an overload of the system. As a result, a single SQL can have an enormous impact on the productive system.
The analysis can take place offline (without an active connection from us) or online (active connection from one of our employees). The workload is recorded over the last few weeks and classified and prioritized with your help. At the same time, we also make the first tuning recommendation.
After the initial analysis and a health check of the system, the workload classes and parameters are outlined.
Yes, if you have already collected the necessary data yourself or if you want something specifically analyzed, only special steps of an analysis can be carried out. This is then tailored to your needs.
